Ancholme River Walk, Brigg, Lincolnshire

Enjoy a fresh and invigotating walk beside the River Ancholme and discover valuable habitats and a string of historic bridges.
The pathways are dotted with a rolling rural landscape of woodland and isolated farms, hedgerows, low hills and meandering streams and tributaries.
Historically, Ancholme is a man-made river, introduced to improve the drainage of the Valley and to provide a navigable waterway.
Work began during the 17th century and took two centuries to complete.
