The Exotic Pet Refuge, Deeping St James, Lincolnshire

The Exotic Pet Refuge is a small charity that offers a loving home to all kinds of animals.
Founded in 1984 by Pam Mansfield and her late husband, Mel, the sanctuary began life in the caring couple’s home nine years earlier.
"Someone came to us one day with an injured bird – and it all snowballed from there, with more and more creatures being brought to us!"
- Pam Mansfield
The Refuge accepts creatures from all kinds of backgrounds – the RSPCA, owners who cannot care for a pet any more, organisations like zoos…the list goes on.
As a sanctuary for exotic animals and native wildlife, they are only allowed to be open to the public for six days a year.
