Lord Alfred Tennyson Research Centre, Lincoln, Lincolnshire
The Tennyson Research Centre is located in the dome of the Lincoln Central Library. It is widely regarded as the most intimate and informative collection on Alfred Tennyson.
It is a popular place and includes an astonishing 3,000 books from Tennyson’s Library, reflecting his intellectual curiosity.
There are also manuscripts and photographs, diaries, journals and notebooks, proofs and letters, and a more personal array of pipes, spectacles, a hat, a cloak, a dog whistle, and the handkerchief that was put over his face in death.
Groups and individual visits to the Research Centre are welcome by appointment.
