North Scarle Miniature Railway, Lincoln, Lincolnshire
The North Scarle miniature railway is the home of the Lincoln and District Model Engineering Society and is a five and seven and a quarter inch dual gauge ground level track.
There are raised steaming bays for small locomotives and ground level bays for larger ones, a turntable and a hydraulic lift for offloading locomotives from trailers. The line travels round the field and normal running direction is anti-clockwise, from the old station, over the crossing, along the east side of the field and into the new station.
Ideal for a fun family outing but very advisable to phone or check the website direct beforehand to confirm opening times and admission prices and also check for events or special offers.
The small village of North Scarle is situated near to the Nottinghamshire border in the valley of the River Trent and comprises mostly of residential housing and a small number of business premises.
