Church Of St. Thomas Of Canterbury, Mumby, Lincolnshire

Dedicated to St Thomas of Canterbury, the Grade I listed Church in Mumby is of Early English style. Although the dedication has been disputed, it was briefly changed to St Peter, it has now reverted to its original name.

The font echoes from the 14th century and the western tower is of 15th century construction. It was repaired during the mid 19th century with the chancel being rebuilt thirty or so years later. Further restorations were undertaken in the years before the First World War.

The picturesque village of Mumby is situated in the East Lindsey district of the county and was recorded in the 11th century Domesday Book of 1086 consisting of less than 100 households.
