Blackstones FC, Stamford, Lincolnshire

Blackstones Football Club is based in Stamford off Lincoln Road.

Currently members of the United Counties League Division One they play in Lincoln green (Lister Blackstone had Brunswick Green engines) and black shirts with black shorts.

Formed as the works team of Blackstone & Co, the club won the Peterborough & District League shortly after the first world war. However, they subsequently dropped into more local football, playing in the Stamford & District and Bourne & District leagues.

Post-second world war saw the club lose several relegation battles only to leave the league and rejoin during the 1960s when they were Division Two champions in 1961–62 and Division One champions in 1975–76.

It was during this period they were renamed Mirrlees Blackstone after the company merged with Mirrlees National Limited in 1969.

In 1987-88 they finished runners-up in United Counties League Division One and were promoted to the Premier Division. The 1992−93 season saw them win the Lincolnshire Senior 'A' Cup, beating Bourne Town in the final.

Floodlights were installed in the late 1980s and the ground has a capacity of 1,000.
