Cardinal's Hat & Dernstall House, Lincoln, Lincolnshire

The Cardinal's Hat is a 15th century three story building thought to have been named for Cardinal Thomas Wolsey. It can be found at the bottom/lower end of Steep Hill in Lincoln.

Dernstall House, though less imposing contains masonry dating from the 12th century.

This pair of historic buildings stand at the start of "The Strait" section of Lincoln's Steep Hill.

Like many Tudor buildings, the upper floors lean out over the lower floor to maximize street frontage space.
