East Keal, Lincolnshire

East Keal is situated at the southern edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds some 14 miles north of Boston. The population is circa. 400.

There is ample evidence of human activity in and around the village dating back many thousands of years. Two hundred years ago most of the local population were either directly dependent on the land or worked in the brick and tile industry which flourished prior to the advent of mass produced bricks in the early nineteen hundreds.

The sweeping views over the fens are renowned and on a clear day stretch across the Wash to Norfolk. Today, the Village remains surrounded by rich farm land growing mainly arable crops and some grassland rearing beef, cattle and sheep.

There are also a number of Chalybeate springs in the village.
